SANTORINI DAY FIVE: CALDERA BOAT TOUR

With our time in Santorini only being six days, we had to pick the perfect day to take the boat tour! Unfortunately we did not experience the best weather while in Santorini but it was better than Ireland, which was what we were going for! It seemed like we had brought the rain with us since it rained for the first time in Santorini in about seven months! The temperature remained in the 60's for most of the time we were there but this day the sun was out a little more than usual.
We took the tour on the Caldera's Boats from the Santorini Sea Excursions. The prices are extremely reasonable and there are different packages that you can choose from. We took the two hour tour (since it was the only one available due to it being the end of the season) and it was only 20 euro! It took us to the active volcano of Santorini and to the hot springs.
Swimming to the hot springs you had to swim about 15 meters to get to the hot spring. Unfortunately the water was super cold so jumping in and swimming the 15 meters, which really wasn't that far, took my breath away. Literally. I felt like I was going to drown! But thankfully I survived and here I am writing this post. There is sulfur in the hot springs, it kind of stains your hands and feet and orange color. I suggest that you wear a darker colored bathing suit to avoid staining a lightly colored one! After the boat tour we had some lunch at the port and then took the cable car to the top of the mountain.
I definitely love being out on the water, especially on sail boats! After being in Costa Rica on a sail boat for the first time I loved it and wanted to be back on one the next day! So if you get the change to get on one do it! And if you are in Santorini definitely check out the Caldera Boats here!
Cheers, Nikki
