I SEE FRANCE (WITH GRANDMA!)

Bonjour from Paris, France! I got the lovely treat of being accompanied by my Grandma to Paris, France for the weekend. Christian came along with me and we had an amazing time together. I was so happy to be able to spend time in another country with not only my best friend but also my Grandma. I really would like to do a post on my Grandma one day. She is a travel agent in Florida and has been to more places in the world than I can count. It is my goal in life to travel to as many places as she has had the opportunity to travel too.

We stayed in a four star hotel, the Saint James Albany Paris Hotel-Spa. It was a beautiful hotel located in a really great spot; just across the street from the Louvre, a few blocks from the Christmas Market and a just a few minute drive to the Eiffel Tower. I decided to edit these photos with a sepia tone since I could not decide which filter and edits looked best on all of them.

The windows in our rooms were double doored so you could pull them open and the best part was there was no screens. At night the sky from the window looked as if it was going to snow. The ledge just inside the window was just small enough for me to sit and look out at the buildings. I think it was my favorite part of the room besides the bath towel heater in the bathroom... You can find the room that we stayed in here.

After we got settled Christian and I headed for the Louvre, just a few blocks from the hotel. The Louvre was absolutely stunning. The glass triangle (which is the top entrance to the museum) was actually a lot smaller than I had expected it to be. The museum itself is huge and definitely a must do. The other part that was a lot smaller than I expected it to be was the Mona Lisa. The wall in comparison to the actual painting is ridiculous.

The details in the ceilings of the Louvre were incredible and so finely detailed. It was so hard to get a good look at them from such a distance and pictures don't do it justice so you will have to see for yourself!

We finished our first day off with a nice dinner at a restaurant right around the corner from our hotel. And just up the block was this view of the city center where you can get a pretty view of the Eiffel Tower. I think here is where I realized that Parisian drivers are absolutely insane and I think the craziest drivers that I have seen since being abroad. There are no lines on most of the roads either so its mostly a free for all.

Keep a look out for the rest of my posts on Paris! I've been extremely busy and sick the past week so I have been slacking on posts so bare with me!

Cheers, Nikki
